The Mall of Switzerland offers unique leisure and sports facilities: the main attractions include a spectacular multiplex cinema with the latest IMAX technology and the largest IMAX cinema screen in Switzerland, as well as a modern fitness centre. The
highlight is the first ever indoor surfing arena in Switzerland with a ‘standing wave’ by Jochen Schweizer. This unique surfing facility for beginners and professionals is the centrepiece of the attractive Jochen Schweizer Leisure and Event Arena, which covers over 1,200 sqm in the shopping centre. The standing wave, which is up to 140 cm high, provides an authentic surfing experience for children (from the age of 8), beginners or professionals with tropical water temperatures of 24 to 26°C. The size and pressure of the wave can be adjusted and adapted to surfers’ technical level. The directly adjacent event and catering area offers companies a first-class setting for lively events and presentations.
The Ebisquare adventure area – the heart of the shopping centre

In the heart of the Mall of Switzerland, families can expect a fantastic children’s world of adventures with Swiss themes. Here in the country’s largest children’s play area located in a shopping centre, kids can let off steam, play and learn on approximately 1,500 sqm – and on with the option of supervision. The children’s play area is set has been designed with specialists “TheLeisureWay” and underlines the Mall of Switzerland’s as a lively meeting place for the whole family.
Fascinating architecture and a holistic design concept
The Mall of Switzerland will captivate visitors not just with its innovative concept but also thanks to its first-rate, friendly and open architecture and careful design by Burckhardt+Partner AG (architecture) and Schwitzke & Partner GmbH (design). Like the Munich Allianz Arena, the facade of the shopping centre’s upper floors draws glances with its translucent ETFE film. The light foil dematerialises the large volume and reflects the diverse surrounding conditions. Depending on the day and light situation, the facade is also illuminated, giving the building a lively and distinctive appearance. The kaleidoscope is an overarching design theme in the Mall of Switzerland and is also evident in the interior architecture. Mirror axes traverse the floors of the square and the shopping centre, and form the starting points for the architectural emphasis of entrances and mall centres. A holistic design concept with high rooms, lots of light and impressive, Swiss-themed sculptures creates a unique feeling of space. Throughout the shopping centre there are numerous seating areas which invite visitors to relax and chat.
